Menopause is when a woman stops having periods. Menopause means ‘the last menstrual period. It is a natural event and transition that women experience, however, the timing and symptoms are different for everyone. Low levels of oestrogen and other changes related to ageing (like gaining weight) can raise your risk of heart disease, stroke, and osteoporosis.

Having a balanced diet is obviously important at every step in our lives but during perimenopause and menopause A healthy diet for a menopausal woman means eating plenty of nourishing.


Several evidence showed that the Mediterranean diet acts on both weight control and menopause, in addition to the known effects of the Mediterranean diet on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. This diet encourages nutrient-dense food and promotes plant-based food like vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and healthy fats. The Mediterranean dietary pattern (MDP) also includes moderate consumption of fish and shellfish, white meat, eggs, and dairy products.
